I think we now have three threads running on this very subject. Plus you couldn't stay as long as you like without becoming a resident and Spain to follow is a bit of wishful thinking at the moment.

I  think   you  would  be  paying   Some  Solicitors fees  and Taxes  as well  to get  your name  on title deeds and  no  guarantee  Spain  will  ever  relax  90  day  rule,   As  they  say,   Talk is  cheap!!

"therefore stay as long as I like tom"

You can stay as long as you like, but if you stay more than 183 days in the tax year you will have to pay tax to the Spanish tax man!!

The French have proposed a change for second home owners but is not law yet. The change if passed will enable second home owners to stay 6 months in every twelve instead of 3 in every 6. The overall limit over a year is the same but it will be beneficial to those that want to over-winter.

It's  only  beneficial  to Home  owners,  if  they  are renting  not  sure it applies to  them 🤔
