Probably, yes, if you get stopped. All items are subject to import duties unless you are making a permanent move in which case they can be imported free if you can show you have used them for over 6 months.
Most of the time you'd be fine but last time I came through Bilbao they were stopping quite a few cars that were obviously bringing stuff in.
I had some stuff in the boot but wasn't stopped. If driving down through France I shouldn't think the French would be too interested if you weren't stopping there.

That's perfectly valid if you are changing your residency from UK to Spain. The OP said he wanted to bring stuff for his holiday villa, not on a permanent move.

It’s not worth the hassle, all this stuff can be bought very inexpensively from many outlets, eg Carrefour have a good selection.

The answer to your question is yes you can. You need to itemise all items and put a value against each one, the sum total must not exceed €300 if you’re travelling by car (€430 by plane or boat). Anything above this amount should be declared.
We’ve just travelled down with various bit and pieces from the UK, all second hand, so the value, which admittedly is arbitrary and could be challenged, was less than €300. We were waived through at French customs anyway.
Link below has the details for France but it’s an EU wide policy.
Hope this helps.
