I know it’s been asked before, but what would you need to obtain residencia in Spain if you have a healthy lump sum but no monthly wage?

You need to initially apply to the Spanish embassy while you are still living in the UK for a visa to move to Spain and satisfy the requirements for income and healthcare.  If you are granted a visa you can move over to Spain and apply for residency within the first month of living here. There are a few other documents that will need to be supplied like police checks etc.

Hi Nicky,

One of our members, Steve1686, has written a very helpful guide to applying for the Non-lucrative Visa, based on his own experience, which includes comment about lump sum as opposed to monthly income:

How to apply for a Non-Lucrative visa (NLV)

If you want to apply for a different Spanish visa, the details can be found on the Spanish government website:

http://www.exteriores.gob.es/Consulados/LONDRES/en/Consulado/Pages/Visas.aspx

Kind regards,

Kim
