This morning my wife had an appointment at an Elche hospital. When we were due to leave we couldn't get our car out of our property because somebody decided it was OK to park in front of our gates. So we had to get a taxi and were late for the appointment. How can someone be so thoughtless, careless, and inconsiderate? We live near Masa square and given the time the morning fitness session at the pool was going on and I'm guessing that it was someone attending that. I hope that the owner of the vehicle and/or someone who knows them sees this post. The consequences could have been far more serious if we had a critical health emergency.

It   only   takes   2  minutes  to  let  Air  out of  2  tyres   and  they  won't be back  in hurry.  I  do   understand  your  feelings  towards   unruly   parking. So  why  not play  there  games.   =  No respect

if you have a permit (vado permanente) to stop people parking in front of your entry, including your own car, you can call the police and they will remove it straight away.

Saw the same thing in Quesada and the offending vehicle was removed in a very short time indeed.

We were in a hurry to get to the hospital. Stupid stuff like this could escalate - they know where we live but we don't know who they are. Although we do have their licence plate number :). Hopefully they will see this and 'lesson learnt'. Good suggestion though...

Thanks for your reply. Yes I heard about that. Good suggestion. If it happens again we will probably do that. We haven't been here long and were hoping for a quiet life...

Maybe pay to have a vado permanente. That way you can be assured that you are in the right if someone parks on the public highway outside your house. Otherwise, if you damage the car, which appears to be legally parked, then you could find yourselves in a lot of trouble.

Apologies if there is any signage on the street prohibiting parking in the spot but I cannot see it from your photo'.

Thank you for your reply. There are dashed white lines outside our house clearly delineating the permitted parking zones. Our gate is not in a permitted zone. As others have suggested, the 'vado permanente' would seem to be the way to go. But I still don't understand how someone can be such a moron :(

You don't always need a permit if a car is blocking access it can legally be moved, I don't have one and police came with Grua but unfortunately the morons arrived back in time to find the people in our street had got fed up of waiting and moved her car with theirs (straight into my wall).
