If you don't have a property in the UK that is used for the UK registration of the vehicles then they are illegal.   They also have to be taken back to the UK to have their MOT done.   An ITV station may do them here in Spain but that does not mean to say that it is correct, neither is any insurance taken out on them in Spain.   I bet that you would not be paid on any claim if you had an accident.

Hi guys , thanks for all the response to my question ...Hopefully get a call from guardia civil advising me what to do .. Regards lying to the police , I got one of the few who spoke English ,and with my luck , he would have twigged to me ,so didn’t fancy my chances .

The good thing is , they never booked me ...this time ... simply told me that due to Brexit , I would nt be allowed to drive I. Spain using UK license after October , so it could have been worse

Have a good day 😀

Some of the Guardia Civil officers can be quite nice and some do speak a little English, as I found out last year when I was booked for the very first time for speeding.   I had missed a 60kph sign for a crossroads.

I was stopped last year when I inadvertently had switched the fog light on.

Generally I find they're quite courteous but these two were very officious. They were determined to find something wrong with my documents but luckily I had my driving licence, passport details and NIE with me. One of them was quite rude and demanded to know why I hadn't changed my UK licence for a Spanish one until I told him I wasn't a resident.

I almost felt I would have beenb better off not speaking Spanish

Just seen this and thought I would comment, if you are resident here in Spain then you have to have a Spanish licence your licence must be issued to your address and as you are a resident then that is your legal address.
