Hi
Yes, I told it, only material. But for sure, it depends the size of the garden, what we already have as a tube and other basic material. For example, I have already the irrigation installed, but need now to install the programmer and 4 solenoid valves and buy 100m more of 32mm tube. It will cost me 200 or 250€, for a vegetable and orchard garden of 2000m2.
I don't need to put my tube of 32mm under the soil, just protect them from the ray sun.
You could open in this forum a new thread and we could give you any advices and tips, or here if Russel doesn't mind. So make the point of the material you already have, the distance between you main water key and the plants to be watered, the location of an electrical outlet and distance from your main water key.
Watering automaticly your plant pot, you could buy a manual timer for around 15 or 20€, some tube of 16mm and 6mm and some plugs drop by drop, and then, you choose how many minutes you want to water. This programmer is manually, so you'll program it each day, each time you need to water the plant. You'll don't need any battery or electric outlet for this system.
