Check out Booking.com for availability, obviously the old town is extremely busy with Spanish tourists at the moment, so it may be a chance availability is quite low. A fair number of hotels will only accept minimum stays (usually 4 days) If they have dates available they will release dates for shorter stays closer to the date.
If you do go keep your phone/wallet/purse safe and secure, the place is crawling with pickpockets.
I'd suggest you also avoid overt displays of valuable watches and jewelry etc, which the 'hugger muggers' will relieve you of in the blink of an eye.
Blimey, 3 times I've stayed in Benidorm three times,, once the newer bit and twice in the old town. Never had anyone hug me, rug me or any other ug me. Yes, you do need to be careful everywhere but can't see how Benidorm is any worse (except Barcelona which is a muggers paradise).
Yes, this time of year many places are sold out. Hotels saying 88% occupancy with some hotels completely full. Got what I thought was a nice one in the old town near the beach but was sold out completely. The "Solana" Benidorm (really the Sol Pelicana) had rooms but is in the hotel district.
Hotel Colon is in the old town near the beach and they say they have a few rooms available. Went past it once but haven't stayed there and it looked quite nice.

Hi,
When we go to Benidorm it's always off season and we always stay in the Belroy which is a short walk from the old town which we love. The main reason we choose this because it provides parking on site ( I don't know about availability in peak season) and they are friendly helpful staff, good rooms and close to amenities.
If you want to save yourself a lot of hassle you could see if coachtripsonline.com or Rosa Tours have any trips available and they can take the strain. They do pick up in Gran Alacant.
Enjoy your stay when you go :-)
