Hello

Looking to buy an apartment in Guardamar del Segura  but not familiar with the neighborhoods. Any advice on the good residential areas? Thanks you

By “residential areas” , do you mean for living here permanently or as a  holiday home?

Whichever it is I would advise you check out the area both at this time of the year and in August, especially if you are wanting to live in the centre, as parking can be a bit problematic in August. So if you purchase near the beaches you will need car parking associated with your property.

Both fine as holiday home areas.

The park area is extremely busy of a night time during summer as there’s an evening craft market and fairground nightly  from mid June through to mid September.. The restaurants by the park are open fairly late as well.

During Fiesta time (end July) there’s lots of late night free entertainment, which can be a tad noisy, especially as this being Spain,  it doesn’t begin till midnight.  . All of the above are all well worth visiting and taking part , but if you like to go to go to bed before midnight than you need to assess that area yourself. It’s also quite close to the town hall ( a couple of minutes walk) and  they frequently celebrate things with daytime fireworks and loud music.  But to be honest it’s all part of the Spanish lifestyle.  But we did have another forum member on here who bought a property near the park, who obviously hadn’t been informed just how noisy the Spanish can be and advised that  he’d  been woken up at 10pm by the Spanish having their pre dinner drinks.
If  you live or holiday in Spain you just have to adapt to the lifestyle!

The castle hosts a couple of live entertainment evenings as well, but I think they’re held at more normal times of around 10 pm.

Mercadona  area is fairly  near the start of the  fiesta parades, so the only event noise you’ll get is around fiesta times with people, cars , trucks and floats gathering - but to be honest it’s not that noticeable as it’s very early evening anyway.

The three areas you’ve chosen are all very central, close to shops, restaurants etc, in fact there only a 15 minute walk from each other and of course they’re all close to the beach. But should you decide to buy or even rent a car, you will have trouble parking during the summer, but the rest of the year is fine.

Guardamar does have a lot of Spanish holiday home  owners, they party hard and into the early hours, so ask your  estate agent  what nationalities  own in the apartment block you choose.

Good luck with your search,Guardamar is a lovely place, but I’m biased as I live in one of its urbanisations on the outskirts of the town.

If you want a quiet area but with easy acess to the town centre (on  bus route) try the road to the marina. Mas y Mas supermaket on this road. Ample parking spaces most complexs are gated so secure parking.
