When we signed on to the Rojales Town Hall we got a Padron, then took it to the Medical Centre in Quesada who printed off a SIP Card; a Doctor was allocated to us, we needed our Passports and Address. When we were poorly the Urgent Centre only wanted our SIP Cards. Hopefully we can visit our Spanish house in the next few weeks - while there we intend to re-new our Padron and SIP Cards.

You may be interested to learn that holiday home owners should not register on the padron. The padrón is only for habitual residents of Spain. Registering could have tax implications as the person inscribed is stating that they habitually reside in Spain. By registering on the Padron you are confirming to the Spanish authorites that Spain is your main residence.

Our OP will find that Guardamar will not let non residents sign on the padron. Nor do they allocate temporary SIP cards, ( except for those issued during Covid for vaccination purposes only).

They do tend to stick to the rules, either that or they enjoy the paperwork.
