Hi all. we are moving to Spain end of June with our Cockapoo Jet and will use Eurotunnel. Shar you mentioned the Chip ID, where did you go to register in Spain or can this be done on line?

Does anyone know the rules for restraining dogs in cards in Spain?

Regards

Paul

Hi Paul.  We were told that your pet could be harnessed on the rear seat ,in a crate or use a dog guard between the seat and the boot , I think this is accurate unless somebody can tell us different , I was also told  yesterday to travel through France you have to carry breathalyser kits again I’m not sure if this is correct but have looked on amazon and they are cheap to buy .

Hope your trip goes well , you can give me any hints and tips after the journey , but I have to say the amount of knowledge that people have on the forum is brilliant on all topics 👍

Hi My local vet registered mine I had to pay which could have been about 80€, but peace of mind, given a residency card for her too, in La Marina  Urb, 🐶.

Doesn't it all depend on what happens regarding UK leaving the EU?

Hi we are traveling back to Spain via Brittany Ferries with our two cats, they will have to stay in the motor home, dogs can also stay in the car if there is no room in the kennels.

How long is the journey via Britanny Ferries patriciann?

We are looking into using the ferry this year as the journey through france was not nice in the winter. Can you visit the pet if you leave it in the car or caravan?

Hi

I just called Brittany Ferries for you, and they said dogs were only allowed to stay in the car for France, not allowed for Spain, and visits are only permitted on a non night crossing.

Sorry I thought it was the same for cats and dogs. I hope you get things sorted, I know how stressing this is, we did think about sending them by plane, and (travel fur pets) would arrange everything and even arrange kennels until you could pick them up.

Kind regards Patricia

Thank you for doing that Patricia :)

Will look into the options.
