We are new to Javea and just closed on our home last month. We have a huge tank that was just filled recently with 1,500 euros worth of gas only to find out it is just being used soley for the stove and we are actually going to switch to an induction stove.

We would love to get some money back to not be a total loss and I believe when we filled it we were told that there was half a tank already which would mean that there is approx. 3000 euros worth of gas in that tank? sounds like a crazy amount to me. Not sure what to do with all this gas sitting on our property. Any suggestions?

I  would  put off getting  induction  stove till Gas has used. Not sure but nearly  certain  you cannot  transfer  Gas  too dangerous  no 1. Liquid  .

We don't have a stove in the house so we would have to buy a gas stove to use the gas :/

Why  is Gas ⛽  tank  at  your property  what appliances  are been  serve by Gas. I  might be call the Company  that supplied  Gas if you could  get a recent  invoice  call them and  see if they might help.  I  still  think  you would  best use Gas with Gas appliances  if they are still in  use

repsol bulk gas tank

When we completed the purchase of the house we started remodeling the kitchen and other area's. We still do not live in the home because of all the work being done and had no idea that gas was only running the stove, bit naive I know.
I was so focused with other details of the house and assumed we had water heaters run by gas but we don’t.  Wondering if I could somehow use that gas for bbq grill.  I will call Repsol to see what options we have and maybe we can run the line to our bbq grill.

Thank you for your feedback :)

In  most European countries  the big Gas companies  have  rental  or yea standing  charge  on Gas tank.  I  would check   it out if  you are still  paying  or will  be invoice  for rental  or Standing  charges  on Gas tank.  As  previous  post have stated  the Gas tank is  property  of Gas companies.  That itself  tell me you are incurring  some sort of  fee, but could be  wrong  only got by my experience  in other countries

May be obvious but make sure you have your electric potentia and wiring checked for an induction cooker.

All bulk gas tanks belong to the company whose name is on the side whoever that might be. You pay an annual rental on that.
You can't mess with it in any way so if you want to get rid of it you need to talk to the supplier.  They will probably come along with a Hiab and pick it up.

I'm not certain how they would work out any credit due to you for the gas remaining in the tank.  The little gauges on top are notoriously inaccurate, assuming it even works.

I would suggest that someone who lived there earlier might have had someone form of gas heating but it's beyond me what there is no evidence of that.  It is just not sensible to get a bulk tank for one or two appliances.

If you are not desperate to get rid of it, keep it and use the gas then get it shifted.

When i replaced my old boiler i went for oil as was told by expert its much cheaper fuel than gas for the same heat content eg BTUs, or calories for the modern units. Modern oil boilers are reliable and clean, 4 years so far and zero problems.
