Hi Everyone,
We are thinking of buying a house in La Marina oasis.The house we like it had an owl on the top and look like the things they use to scare birds, does anyone know if there is a problem with birds,we are staying in Santa Pola just now and there is a large number of birds outside our supermarket. The noise is terrible at times.We work form home so want a quiet space.

I have never known a problem anywhere on La Marina with birds. These stone ornaments are not put there to scare birds but are purely and simply, decoration. Almost every house here has a stone animal, bird or just an acorn on their walls here. It must be a very unusual place where you live if you are that bothered by them.

Hi, which supermarket in Santa Pola would that be?
I ask because I know Santa Pola well and can't think of a supermarket which has housing directly in front of it. Nor a lot of noisy birds flying around in the vicinity.

Hi Helenam22,
Are you talking about the plastic type of owl with its head on a spring that swivels? We have one of those, supposedly for scaring away smaller birds - I've named him "Bowel" because he's cr@p at his job! 🤭 I love birds, but I don't want them trying to nest behind my aircon units - we have enough trees in which they can build their nests. We certainly don't experience so many birds that they are a noise nuisance.

Mercadona in Calle Elche doesn't have housing in front of it or at either side.
Mercadona up from the beach in the Playa Levante has a car park in front and a shopping centre on one side and a road on the other.
