I have owned a property in La Marina for a number of years.

It is a 3 bed 2 storey villa with pool and I just wanted to try and see if my Council Tax is on par with other people's. The plot size is approximately 500m2. I'm not sure what the actual build size is.

Last years payment in September was €602.16.

Thanks in anticipation.

Hi

No extras.

3 bed 2 bathrooms and a couple terraces.

Just thought I'd ask because that was my thought about being high and your property and plot is by far bigger so unless it's a regional thing I need to challenge it.

Thanks for the feedback .

Ours is 3 bed bed 2 bath detached 500+sqm plot private pool and ours is €700, (and that's a third of our council tax in UK)

We bought a property in La Marina in 2011. The tax was €220, they then revalued the property, and the tax went up to €251.

When we modernised and extended in 2014/15, they revalued the property again. Now we pay €567!

3 bedroom, 2 bath, 204 sq.m.

It does sound high. I suggest checking the catastral data for your property, to ensure that this is accurate.

The IBI (collected by SUMA in Alicante Province) is set by your town hall, so what someone pays in, say, Torrevieja is completely different to what is paid by someone in, say, Almoradí.

All

Thanks for the feedback.

I wasn't attempting to compare against the UK it was just here in Spain to get a feel for what people are paying especially in my area.

Jim.......I may try that.

We paid €172 last year. Built area is probably similar to yours, but our plot size is larger. I think we have the benefit of being out in the sticks.

Out of interest I tried to find your catastral data, but their website is down at the moment.

If you'd like to bump this thread tomorrow, that will remind me to have another look.

Tried again this morning, and I've sent you a PM.
