Car hire from Alicante Airport

Does anyone know why car hire has gone up 10 fold from the airport?
Has it, where is your info coming from?
Our friends have rented at the airport 4-5 times a year since 2013 and say the prices haven't changed much in that time.
They are off course much more expensive in the summer months, compared to January or February.

Ok rent a car thru doyouspain, it's off airport but literally 2 mins away , we've gone with them last dozen times
Always hire through them but on airport. At moment it is 330 euros. Highest for 13 years and we hire 3 times a year. Thanks
How do you get to off airport? Never done this before

When are you going ?.how long for ? 330 euros ??? I've booked for 18 days in August for 160 euros .. you must be doing it all inclusive of their insurance ??

Been doing this for 13 years, three times a year. Husband is over 70 and so that does incur an extra charge (or not on some of them) but we have never paid anything like this. He has looked at off airport with Do you Spain and there is not much difference. We are going 16 April for three weeks (coming back 8 May). I know it is Easter but even so we have never paid this much and we always travel at this time. We will have to bite the bullet this week.
