Visas ?

We have a house in La Marina. We stay twice a year within the 90 day rule. We have never been asked for a Visa. Do we need one? Thank you for your advice.

You do not need a visa if you are coming on holiday and keeping within the 90 day rule. I think next year everybody who visits Spain will need a visa exemption certificate which will cost around £7 which will last 3 years. Someone else will explain a little clearer about the exemption certificate.

Hi,
the attached article from the Schengen website explains the EU travel authorisation scheme that Steve mentions. It is now supposed to come into use in November 2023, but then it was supposed to go live in 2022 so perhaps Steve is correct about it being next year.

It is similar to the ETAS authorisation scheme as has operated in the US for many years.
