Hi I have just moved out to Spain and I am a long serving donor so I was wondering if is possible to carry on donating blood here..... I live on the urb in La Marina

Yeah like Spain didn't have CJD!
In France they called it JCB coz they just dug big holes and buried the evidence while UK of course showed the football field size pyres every night on prime time TV!
Transmission of Variant CJD (vCJD) is the potential problem with blood transfusions however to put that risk into perspective according to the UK's National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke:
Quote:
"At present, four cases of vCJD infection have been identified following transfusion of red blood cells from asymptomatic donors who subsequently died from vCJD."
Pretty slim justification for banning blood donations IMO.
