SIP for wife

Hi All

I am a British citizen living as a resident here in Spain

I have a SIP card which I obtained after I turned 65

My wife is from a third country and not from an EU county

I was just wondering if having a SIP car myself I can obtain the same from my wife as we both do our tax return each year here in Spain

Any useful information would be greatly appreciated

You don't say what country she is from except that she is non EU. If she comes from a country that is in the S1 scheme then you can get an S1 in her name as your dependant as beneficiary. Once she has that you can take it to the INSS and they will issue her with a SIP card.

If not from a country in the S1 scheme, you need to show the INSS she is your dependant and will need her proof of residency (TIE card). Proof of relationship (marriage certificate or civil union document) and that she lives with you but not if separated or divorced.

You then need to make an appointment with the INSS to either show dependency or beneficiary status.
