Hi, I’m wondering is anyone selling or would know where I can get a pay as you go meter to save me getting any big bills on my Aircon? Thanks

Don't know about in Spain but here's a possible staring point.

Site says they can be adapted to take Euro coins.

I think I read somewhere that the recent Tourist Licence Regulations stated coin meters on air con systems were not allowed.

I have read that too Les.

Maybe the OP could work around it by installing movement sensors such as Ecosense ?

Kenbo, i agree. Those sensors are becoming more and more used as alternatives to timers . I think that would be a workable solution.

If you are renting to the holiday market then the rental has to cover all utilities including the air con.  Ecosense do a range of options that will reduce the wear and tear on your unit and the size of the bill.  Go for the replacement remote controls for all rooms - complete pain to set up as but there is a youtube video to follow, that way you can limit temperature range and fan speeds.  They also have battery operated sensors for living rooms and night sensors for bedrooms if you want to add those too.  The products are not cheap but they will pay for themselves over time in reduced bills and maintenance.  You will still need to have all units serviced annually.
