This does not sound like a well-planned system...  Are you sure you can manage it well?

For example, the automatic fuses for DC are different from those for AC (spark suppression!).

In order to have a reliable PV system, there are a few things that need to be taken into attention.

If you need support, please get in touch. I have already planned and built several systems here.

Hi tnt369

As the panels are given a maximum 330V total circuit and the automatic breakers are rated for 600V so they are capable of interrupting that current.   Ideally I would look for an interrupted current of 1000V.  Most of the systems are below my power.  The generate a maximum of 2000W (for peak).  I want to have a minimum 7000W out of the converter at one time.  Therefore it is an 8KW converter, and ONLY 15AMP fuses came with the box.  I am having problems finding 20AMP fuses.  Do you know where I can find 20AMP fuses along the CV35 road?

Even if I repeat myself: other fuses are needed for DC. Most of the usual fuses are cheaper for AC. And they can possibly fail with DC and cause a fire. Unfortunately, this is often neglected. Also by suppliers of PV systems.

Make sure that "DC" or the DC symbol is printed on the fuse!

I always order them from specialist shops or on Amazon.

The shop with the largest range of PV systems here in the region that I know is Obramat/Bricomart in Alicante and Valencia. Such fuses could be available there.

Edit: Fusible 10mm x 38mm 20A 1000VDC are available there. Hope this helps.

I have already been to Obramart/Bricomart in Valencia and they did not have anything in stock.

It needs to interrupt the arc.  Therefore these fuses are internally spring loaded.  As soon as they blow the spring pulls back the contacts so the arc cannot stay alive.  If the arc stays alive it will overheat the porcelain and so the fuse holder will melt and cause a fire.

This is confusing. When I look online in Valencia, it says that they have 140 of the fuses in stock. They are like the ones in the photo. They go up to 1000V DC and are therefore suitable for protecting the PV modules.

Do you have a photo of your 15A fuse? The value is unusual. I only know 15A from motor vehicles.

Last week in the shop there was zero in the shop itself.  They told me that they might come in next month.  I had to go home with 15Amp.  Most of them are only sales people and do NOT know anything about electricity.  Most of the staff do not have any training in electronics.  They are very incompetent and NOT helpful which is caused by them NOT having a proper education and training.  This problem is happening all over Spain.
