Import tax on Guitar
Has anyone had to pay import tax when sending a used personal guitar to their address in Spain from the UK? My husband has had to pay 200 euro. The guitar value is £500. Confused Any advice would be great. Thanks

Confused? Did the shipment accompany a customs declaration showing "used household goods - no commercial value"?
Hello
Since the onset of Brexit -Jan 2021, everything coming from a non EU country (UK)to Spain is subject to Import tax & VAT. That,is why no one shops on Amazon .co uk & uses Amazon.es instead, to avoid these extra charges. It doesn't matter whether it is used or for personal use - the tax & Vat still apply.
Cheers

It's a crap shoot since Brexit, but €200 sounds like he got the wrong person and having a bad day.
Only sure fire defence is to not order anything from UK.
