Wow people on here are so rude, nothing worse than know it alls with no grasp of what will be worrying elderly people. Definition of a forum: a place where people can exchange ideas. It’s not so you can be barked at because you don’t live your live on it and may need to ask for advice from time to time.

Don't be ridiculous we are 70 years old and would never dream of breaking the law......and I don't like your implication !!!!

Take no notice. This clown is always banging on about people being illegal or breaking the law. I, like many people, hardly ever read read the blog anymore due him.

I didn't name anyone but it's funny how the culprits replied lol

You are rude to nearly everyone and know it alls.  One thing I've learnt is I don't need to have anything negative in my life.  I will now leave the group.

Personally speaking. I hope you do not. You may have something positive to offer.

This post that was quoted has been deleted.

So pedantic and inflammatory. The lady was merely asking if anyone knew when we were likely to go out by car together, a little more freely.

What’s wrong with people on this site - any chance to knock someone down and pick a fight.

Calm down and go for a 1km walk between 8-11pm, to release some the pent up frustration!

Please don’t leave.  There are some extreme replies being posted on the forum which I personally feel are best not responded to to avoid encouraging more of the same.   We  need to keep a balanced mix of people here to try and maintain some semblance of an open forum in anticipation of a return to a kinder normality hopefully not too far in the distant future.

Since when did it become a reason to denigrate someone for wanting to obey the law, encourage others to do the same and be less than accommodating when faced with people who don't?
RayD has helped 4391 people so far on this forum  (that doesn't include all those who for one reason or another have not ticked the helpful box) and keeps us up to date with the Coronavirus situation.
Some come on here to ask for help, some come on to give help, RayD comes firmly under the latter and again should not be slighted for doing so (as in spending his live (life) on here).
The original post was written in a way that left it open to misinterpretation........Was the OP saying currently they have a dispensation or not?
For regular contributors on here, as French Martini pointed out, some people ask the most asinine questions, are blatantly breaking or wanting to break the law, could answer their own question with a very quick google search or could simply read the very same question and answer a few lines or pages further down. Then there are those who don't like the answers given because it doesn't fit in with their plans.
The subject of being accompanied on trips to the supermarket has cropped up regularly and the main point is the inability of one or other of the couple to do something as basic as the weekly shop and sorry all you capable men out there but it does appear to be a major failure with the minority of you.
As I see it, any easing of restrictions will be reliant on there being no increase in infections following the previous change. The best way to ensure the restrictions can continue to be eased is doing everything we can to abide by the rules, however inconvenient. They may not always make sense and may prove to have been wrong at some time in the future but they are the rules right now.
The police have the devil's own job at the moment so we all have a duty to make it as easy as possible for them and simply suck up mere inconveniences.
I also spend quite a bit of time on here as I like to help people where I can and I also learn a lot but this subject of men being incapable of getting sufficient goods from a supermarket to sustain themselves for a week does get my hackles up.
Another thing that gets me are those in glasshouses throwing stones. In this particular thread RayD asked for clarification of the situation and answered the question, then people were accused of preaching, the OP immediately called him ridiculous whereas I think a man in his 70's not being able to shop is ridiculous. Somebody then lamented the oft asked question "Why do you need to know?".....because it is usually relevant and a valid question, then came "bloody stupid", know it alls, no grasp of concerns of the elderly and "clown". RayD continues to be polite.

YOU ARE MISSING THE POINT !!!!

A VALID QUESTION WAS ASKED. SHE DIDN'T ASK IN ORDER TO BE RIPPED TO BITS.

Perhaps what could have been said is "there is no clarification on this yet".

Not jump in and basically say "YOU ARE STUPID FOR ASKING A VALID POINT"

However as has just been pointed out it looks like fase 1 for 2 people from the same household in 1 car.

As the answer was already there then WHY NOT SAY THAT ! in the first place.

We all want to stick to the rules and laws. I haven't been out except for essential journeys since the lockdown. WE ARE NOT BLOODY STUPID.

Also there was no mention of ANYBODY FALSIFYING INFO.

Perhaps you misinterpreted the question.

I think the question was very badly worded as the disabled element had two possible meanings. The first was a potential way to get round rules and the second was a kind of daft meaning that they couldn't go two in a car because they weren't disabled.

But I think generally there is an ebbing of patience with those who don't like the rules and question them.

Could I just say, and this is not having a go at anyone, My dad (who has now passed away) never did a days shopping in his life. However my mum did the shopping and couldn't drive so my dad took her to the supermarket. Unfortunately they were born in an era when this was the norm. This can still be the case with some people depending on their upbringing.

Another point to mention. I posted a pretty similar question on another site and the 2 answers given were  'from the 11th May' and '12th May'. That was all the original answer needed to be ! Then I think the reply to the answers would have been 'thank you'. 3 posts not 6 pages. Perhaps a lesson can be learned.

...

We’re not in school, having our English Grammar marked and graded.

The question was a simple one.

Way too much testosterone on this site.

All I would ask is: Just wind it down a notch and think of others’ feelings, before launching into a sermon and berating session. Just play nice, people
