So does the fire stick from the UK not work?

A firestick bough ANYWHERE will work ANYWHERE you have a stable internet connections.

But due to rights, content available will differ on a country by county basis. Thats how rights have been sold for years.

And trying to access content from other countries (eg trying to access iPlayer from Spain) will be geoblocked, which is when you need VPNs / SmartDNS services.

I it is a new model Firestick you may have a few problems getting apps loaded Amazon have put a few blocks in the latest software 

When I purchased my new firestick earlier this year I wasn’t able to download some apps associated with the kodi app, even kodi was difficult to install. I had my firestick loaded when I was in Benidorm a couple of months ago and on my return saw a video on TikTok about a setting you can change which stops unauthorised apps from been routinely removed by Amazon, I can’t remember the exact setting but plenty of info on TikTok.

I have no idea why people buy Fire stiks thinking you plug into your tv and they work. Fire Stiks are made by Amazon most APPS you need come from GOOGLE they hate each other so its never ever easy.

 DO NOT BUY THEM contact a tv Supplier IPTV etc who can advise you. I am 71 and been tv for years and years I hate fire Sticks Same as Mag boxes I will not use them. Andrioid Fire Stiks are easy to load for most people no jail breaking needed.

 I really feel your pain everyone says great but none of them have ever tried to do it themselves if they have they generally give up.

 DO NOT BUY FIRE STIKS I had a guy this morning took an hour because of various things, for a 5 minute job.  Buy from some one that sets it up before you arrive. Rather than buy some thing that drives you and me mad for various reasons. Friends Install BBC Iplayer X Player you name it then no room and they DO NOT WORK without VPN.  Theres my rant done Sorry but it winds me UP I will not do any Fire Stiks for anyone going forward.
