Hi, has anyone got any experience/advice for using irrigation water to fill/maintain a pool?

We have a property with a pool near Monforte Del Cid which we are struggling to keep blue/clear when using the irrigation water. Tankered water is going to cost crazy money to maintain sufficient levels so we are trying to get some advice about what the problem may be- too many phosphates?

Many thanks

Hannah

Irrigation water will have all sorts of contaminants that affect your pool clarity also tankered water is of an unknown quality and more expensive than tap water, so if you can keep it filled from your regular mains water supply it is going to be of a good quality and in the long run will probably save money IME.

We had our well water tested by the local chemist, it was about 90e, came back with contaminants in it and advised not to use it. Had the tap water tested as well an that came back perfect to drink

We use irrigation water for our pool using all the same chemicals etc that others have recommended for mains filled pools and in 4 years nobody has been ill or been affected in any way. We don't have auto top-up and if the pool springs a leak and drains totally, all we've lost is €33.
People still swim in the Mar Menor and look at the problems there!
