Just in process of buying house in la zenia trying to pick bank so we get IBAN number

Agree with Steve, a Spanish bank account can be expensive to run and unnecessary if you are non res.
I also use Wise to pay direct debits for utilities etc, as a non resident it works perfectly for me.
Not only the above, it allows you to send/received money in different currencies and comes with a debit card for everyday use.
The monthly atm withdrawals allowance isn't great, use an alternative for this, open a basic uk Santander account then no charges at Santander ATM's in Spain.

We’ve cancelled our Spanish bank (charged nearly300€ a year just for the account) and moved to Wise. No annual charges and all DD’s paid. They have Belgian IBAN.
Very simple to change.
