I've yet to find an independent insurance broker in Spain - rather, they are agents representing typically just one insurance company, so you'll need to phone around for alternative quotes.

We opened a Sabadell account in order to purchase in Spain about a year ago and it did not go smoothly.(charges left, right and centre for all sorts of spurious things) we are non resident.

Anyway we got through it and had to purchase their insurance to try and avoid other charges which I can't remember now(it was not the removal of the 40 euro per quarter charge, which we still pay). We have a Wise account and today Sabadell will not recognise the IBAN when I try to transfer money to Wise from my Sabadell account! It seems the Belgian bit is not liked?

So I am in the situation where I cannot transfer any money from my Sabadell account. I have sent them an email and called them but don't feel as if I am getting anywhere. We are due in Spain next week and I am wondering how easy it will be to transfer my direct debits for electric, water, communal fees, IB(SUMA) etc to Wise, and also how to go about closing my Sabadell account.eg. the best way to get my account to zero?

Any help appreciated

Does this price sound ok?

Our house insured sum is 120000 euros, 20,000 for furniture, 2,000 jewels, 12,000 gardens.

Are there any good insurance providers that would provide a cheaper quote?

Obviously I don't know what the renewal quote is yet, but you think they'd let me know and not just renew with a hugely different premium?

Try a starling account. We did it last year and was annoyed we had not done it sooner. Sabadell has 10 years of fees from us! Go to the insurance brokers on the shopping centre near pets world. We used to go through our bank! Half price here!
