Is there any way OUT of Spain via Alicante Airport. I have had 3 flights cancelled now. Am I missing an obvious repatriation flight system not advertised or do I just wait until the cheap airlines start flying again. Trying before Junes 6th as I think after that I will have a Boris UK Covid house arrest for 14 days (where they can visit and check) and if you are not in or don't answer the fine is £1000 to £10k !!!

Keep an eye on Vueling.  They seem to have some flights in the not too distant future going via Barcelona

This post that was quoted has been deleted.

OK Ray thanks. It's what I thought. I am peeved to say the least that Ryanair had flights all the way past July only 2 weeks or less ago - they then cancelled my flight and ALL flights up to and past July are greyed out/unavailable. Total con.

It might be due to the Boris 14 day UK home prison decision where they can fine you from 1k to 10k if I leave my house.

All that power - the massive Tory majority and still he f%$^^&d it up. What a %^%£$^%

One part of me says it will change but the more I hear about other's plights (and it's bloody depressing) they more I fear this is going to turn into a much more serious situation. I fear most the confirmation of 2nd wave. Just like 1918 the 2nd wave killed millions more than the first. Already my best mate of over 30 years died and I will miss his funeral. I am furious.

Anyway, at least the sun is out.

Sombody hear anything when people who have their second home her om Spain can come back? Love LindA

Hi Linda... this was the original purpose of the post with a view from  Alicante Dream Homes who are out there. Mid June seems to be pivotal date, but maybe later, say July. It seems to be a matter of cross region challenges (flying uncertainty aside) at the moment they will only relax as the situation moves through different phases. Madrid and Barcelona are way behind. The mortality rate in the Valencian region is very low so they will see things opening up sooner.

It may also seem to depend on how the UK has improved over time. We are not the only 2nd house owners so Italy, France, Germany, Belgium and Holland are in the same boat...but maybe ahead of us.

Spain will welcome the income and trade for sure, and it is welcomed. As secondary home owners there may be a view taken as there is no drain on the state, and we provide income. It just doesn't seem to be on the radar at the moment, but will be over time.

Stay well and I hope it works through for you.

Cheers

Dave

To Gary. Lamata

I am not sure what Ryanair are up to. Why would Michael O’Leary go on tv and tell us all that he plans to be back in the air in July and what was his mad rush to cancel your July flight?  Really strange.
Stop worrying, believe me, you will get home for July. Clearly every country is in the same boat as we all are.  Don’t Blame Boris, it’s a bit unfair. Blame coronavirus by all means but I am hopeful that like all ‘flu type illnesses, it will die out or lie low. Winter is over. Yes, it may very well come back in the autumn and winter but you start taking your Vitamin C,D and Zinc to boost your immune system. Make certain that your body is able to fight the virus if and when it returns.  Everyday we are hearing more and more information about the unfortunate people who died from it. A huge proportion were Diabetic, today they announced that numerous Jewish people also died from it and as you know, a huge number of black and ethnic people also died.

I read that trials are underway in Australia and the Netherlands and other countries to prove or disprove the theory that our BCG vaccinations from our childhood could be offering us immunity.

It struck me recently that perhaps the reason children seem be very able to fight it could possibly be their MMR immunisations given from birth.  You will remember that many parents refused to allow their children to be vaccinated because of fears of autism around the time that Tony and Cherie Blair had their son Leo. That’s about 20 years ago and for about 10 years many parents refused to have their children vaccinated which could account for the 13 and 14 year old boys who caught  covid 19 And one boy died.  Remember that BCG was stopped back in 2005 so those boys may have had no inoculations at all. It’s only my theory but it makes sense.

My daughter is keen to have schools reopened and last week asked 2 old school friends who are both headmistresses their thoughts. Both were negative. One other school friend wrote that both she and her husband are front line medics and have had to send their children to school from day 1.   Not one single child in the school has been ill and all parents are doctors, nurses, physios and nurses   I have not once heard any reports on the tv saying this..... probably never thought to enquire!

This reply has been very lengthy but I hope that it has given you some glimmer of hope. We are all ( I hope) strong and healthy apart from some. Recommend taking those vitamins and zinc daily .

We are all human beings created in God’s image and we are pretty robust creatures who normally fight off illnesses. Keep walking, eat lots of fruits and vegetables. Hate to say it but STOP THE CIGARETTES, enjoy a few vinos and take good care of yourself.

Best wishes

Grannyrose.

It's all true Grannyrose apart from the cigs. I stopped that habit in my teens. Thanks for the pep talk!
