To Gary. Lamata

I am not sure what Ryanair are up to. Why would Michael O’Leary go on tv and tell us all that he plans to be back in the air in July and what was his mad rush to cancel your July flight?  Really strange.
Stop worrying, believe me, you will get home for July. Clearly every country is in...

... the same boat as we all are.  Don’t Blame Boris, it’s a bit unfair. Blame coronavirus by all means but I am hopeful that like all ‘flu type illnesses, it will die out or lie low. Winter is over. Yes, it may very well come back in the autumn and winter but you start taking your Vitamin C,D and Zinc to boost your immune system. Make certain that your body is able to fight the virus if and when it returns.  Everyday we are hearing more and more information about the unfortunate people who died from it. A huge proportion were Diabetic, today they announced that numerous Jewish people also died from it and as you know, a huge number of black and ethnic people also died.

I read that trials are underway in Australia and the Netherlands and other countries to prove or disprove the theory that our BCG vaccinations from our childhood could be offering us immunity.

It struck me recently that perhaps the reason children seem be very able to fight it could possibly be their MMR immunisations given from birth.  You will remember that many parents refused to allow their children to be vaccinated because of fears of autism around the time that Tony and Cherie Blair had their son Leo. That’s about 20 years ago and for about 10 years many parents refused to have their children vaccinated which could account for the 13 and 14 year old boys who caught  covid 19 And one boy died.  Remember that BCG was stopped back in 2005 so those boys may have had no inoculations at all. It’s only my theory but it makes sense.

My daughter is keen to have schools reopened and last week asked 2 old school friends who are both headmistresses their thoughts. Both were negative. One other school friend wrote that both she and her husband are front line medics and have had to send their children to school from day 1.   Not one single child in the school has been ill and all parents are doctors, nurses, physios and nurses   I have not once heard any reports on the tv saying this..... probably never thought to enquire!

This reply has been very lengthy but I hope that it has given you some glimmer of hope. We are all ( I hope) strong and healthy apart from some. Recommend taking those vitamins and zinc daily .

We are all human beings created in God’s image and we are pretty robust creatures who normally fight off illnesses. Keep walking, eat lots of fruits and vegetables. Hate to say it but STOP THE CIGARETTES, enjoy a few vinos and take good care of yourself.

Best wishes

Grannyrose.

Just been informed by Ryanair via email that our flights to Alicante from Leeds/Bradford on the 19 July and returning 29 July has been cancelled!  The email mentions re routing flights!  Now does that mean they might be flying from other Airports in the UK

Anyone else had their flights in July cancelled yet?

If I can’t fly I would be happy to make the long journey by road (done it twice already) but as a Non Resident with an NIE number and deeds to our house in Alicante fear I might be refused entry at the Spanish Border!  It’s a long way back home should this happen !

Thanks

Stephen

Sounds like wishful thinking to me, no one knows when and if we will even go to Phase 2 never mind 3 with deaths and new cases flattened again not continuing to drop its very optimistic!

You probably won't get rid of covid 19 , we just have to live with it , normal flu kills 6000 in the uk each year ,even thou we have a flu jab, time to open up but still social distance,  to fly I think we should have to be tested 7 days before flying,  temperature check before getting on plane and flight attendant given each person squirt of hand gel

I will happily do that. The problem may be the cost of the test. If it is costly then the low cost airlines will insist we pay for it which is understandable. Not everyone will wish to pay and it could be £100 or less per test ie £400 for 2 people travelling on a return journey however, it could be less perhaps £50 x4 costing £200.
regardless, it is the safest and only way to consider flying.

Thanks for your reply.   I heard today Dave that Ryanair May still be flying from airports other than Leeds in July .. So I still have my fingers crossed!  As I said driving was an option .. but.. a big gamble and I think like a lot of others I might just have to wait !!

My personal point of view is to not let in people from the UK and many other countries where contagion and or death rates are very high or if it must be with 2 weeks quarantine in special facilities to be paid for by the visitor. Further agreements need to be made for Covid 19 treatment of infected visitors and procedures regarding all aspects of death etc in the visited country.

But it is not as if people are entering into a country free from COVID..until fairly recently Spain's death rate etc was unfortunately comparable with the UKs..To my knowledge this is the first ever pandemic/epidemic where fit & healthy people have been forced to isolate..At some point things have to open up again and i think it is unhelpful to effectively ban people from certain countries..to many people spain is their home and for whatever reason they were out of the country when all this began and are now finding it nigh on impossible to get back..it's only my opinion but its easy for you to make this statement sitting in the comfort of your own home while many people are effectively banned frim their own home through no fault of their own

If they are residents here they can return anytime. I was speaking with a friend in Southampton yesterday she said that no-one wears masks or does anything different to normal. In the Uk eg. There were 2500 new infections yesterday, hardly under control!

I have Italian and German friends here that are resident in their respective countries and have returned by car and by ferry in the last fortnight to  their countries. Anyone who has a valid reason can return here, but not for Hen parties and cheap booze etc.
