Hi to all...

My name is Declan.

My wife..Julie.. and I. Are planning, to move to sunny Spain by year end. Both Julie and I are in our late 50's. Both are very active, and enjoy getting out and about, dinning out, music nights, meeting new people and shopping. My main interest is radio.

As we have only spent time in Costa Del Sol. We are interested in checking out the Costa Blanca area. Our time at the moment will be 50% 50% Ireland and Spain, that is, until all is settled In Ireland. Then full time in Spain.

My question's  are as follows.

1/ I have heard. One can purchase a home privately, without the need of an estate agent. Is this safe option???

2/ Are there any areas we need to avoid??

3/ We plan to do an inspection visit before any purchase, to check out the area we are interested in. That area is Cabo Roig.

Where is a good place to stay??? while looking around the area.

Basically. I'm after any info regarding this area, and surrounding area.

Thank you in advance, for any info you may send our way..

Declan and Julie.

I'll be looking to rent a place in the Cabo Roig area for one week from the 10.....17 April 2018. Somewhere close to the beach, as I won't be driving..And this is the area I'll be looking at property...

This post that was quoted has been deleted.

Lol Nicola we were shown over 24 villas in that area and ate many times down the strip and also found it very clicky. Like I said it's just my opinion

No axe to grind here. But I have to agree with Wayne on this one.

Hi Declan and Julie. What a brilliant Grand Slam!! My wife Jukie and I are from Ireland and spent 2 years looking for a oroperty in the south of Spain all the the way from the Portuguese border to Valencia. We settled on Pinar de Campoverde which is a perfect mix of Spanish and other nationalities and a short drive to many lovely peaches and the Mar Menor in Murcia. We are here roughly every 6 weeks and would be haopy to meet up either in Ireland or Spain if that woukd be helpful. I would always advise buying through a reputable ageny like Home Espana and using an independent silicitor. It just isnt worth the risk going it alone. Give us a shout and we will help all we can. All the best. Stephen
