Hi to all...

My name is Declan.

My wife..Julie.. and I. Are planning, to move to sunny Spain by year end. Both Julie and I are in our late 50's. Both are very active, and enjoy getting out and about, dinning out, music nights, meeting new people and shopping. My main interest is radio.

As we have only spent time in Costa Del Sol. We are interested in checking out the Costa Blanca area. Our time at the moment will be 50% 50% Ireland and Spain, that is, until all is settled In Ireland. Then full time in Spain.

My question's  are as follows.

1/ I have heard. One can purchase a home privately, without the need of an estate agent. Is this safe option???

2/ Are there any areas we need to avoid??

3/ We plan to do an inspection visit before any purchase, to check out the area we are interested in. That area is Cabo Roig.

Where is a good place to stay??? while looking around the area.

Basically. I'm after any info regarding this area, and surrounding area.

Thank you in advance, for any info you may send our way..

Declan and Julie.

Hi

The only advice I can give is make sure you get a Spanish mortgage on property. Even if its €10,000. That way all the thorough checks will be done.

I do know if a friend of a friend  if a friend who bought in an area in costa blanca and the places are sinking.

Hope this helps

Regards Cathie
