I believe there will always be work for someone who is a good craftsman - just a case of getting your name around, bit of marketing / advertising and slowly slowly word of mouth....
Social services, maybe not so easy transferable - but 30 years of business skills certainly will out you ahead of many other expats who come out with much less experience.

The cost of putting plates on your car will depend entirely on the value of your vehicle - we have been here 5 months and still have UK registered vehicles - we were told that 6 months is the usual deadline, but there seems to be a huge number of UK registered vehicles here still.

Hi to all and good luck your moves. My wife and I are here for a month looking at properties in Campoverde. We live in France and will sell our house as soon as we return in 2 weeks. I was going to put this post in Finance section but as so many newbies have responded here I thought I would pick your brains regarding banking and transfer of monies.
Can anyone recommend a good bank as I believe it can be expensive with some Spanish banks also may I ask if anyone can recommend a notaire
Thanks
Paul

Golf in the area is great ranging from expensive to reasonable. there are plenty of golfers who play 2 or 3 times a week ,and they are all welcoming and keen to show new golfers around..

Hi Yvonne & Roy,
My husband and I recently completed on a property in Campoverde in June and have been backwards and forwards ever since trying to get everything sorted into making our new home. We think it is just the best place ever and would be there full time in a flash if it wasn't for our youngest Son doing his GCSE's this/next year. We have alreaady sold our property over here in England and are renting at the moment so have no real ties and can leave as soon our Son is ready. In the meantime, we have to split our time between here and there and just long for when we can be there full time. Campoverde is fantastic and the people we have met so far are absolutely lovely! You have definately made the right decision. Wishing you all the very best for the future. Maybe one day we will meet and be able to say hi face to face.

We used Sabadell in Pilar de la Horadada and David from Britannia Legals aswell, who also took care of everything for us, both brilliant!
