Anybody got any recommendations for pergola and roof and side blinds for the garden, and has anybody used Toldos Corona and are they good, bad or indifferent, any advice appreciated.

Hi Antonio,

On the contrary to several people we know, we are not satisfied with them.  They have very recently installed a toldo, rooftop palillero and roof top armario.  Their sales man was unexperienced which let to incompetent.  Based on his offer we decided to agree with the purchase.

At the day of the installation (3 months after signing the agreement), the manager came in and said his sales man made a mistake :

1. He did not calculate a price for the top of the rooftop armario, he only gave us a price for 4 sliding doors

2. The rooftop pallilero we ordered should have been completely in posts of 10 by 10 : we got posts of 8 by 4.  The manager explained 8 by 4 would look nicer !!!

3. Toldo : we pointed out that we would like to have a toldo as one of our neighbours (= completely in a box)  The salesman said that is a premium toldo. Little did we know a premium toldo is without a box.   He forgot to calculate the box around the toldo.

The manager explained that he could not install everything at the price we agreed upon.

As a compensation he would give us an outdoor table 120 by 50.  And we shook hands.  Stupid that we are, we did not ask to put this in writing. The matter of the toldo being without the box was only revealed when the workmen were leaving our apartment and we asked where is the box.

We called the manager to inform him about this.

Late at night we received a very angy call of the manager calling us liars and that we are squeezing him.  His sales man would not make such a mistake,  (knowing that in the morning he confirmed the sales man made several mistakes in the offer).  The box for the toldo = 500 euro.  We were fed up and decided not to take the box.

As for the compensation table that should have been delivered yesterday by the manager himself.... We are still waiting.  Who is the liar.

All the works they have done look very good and are seemingly of a high quality. The workmen are skilled.  However we Feel very frustrated.

Hope you don't have as much troubles as we did.

Kind regards

Antonio

Thanks for your feedback, very useful to know other people's experiences, before placing an order, we'll certainly checkout any final agreement before going ahead. Sounds like you had a dreadful experience perhaps we'll shop around a bit more now. Thanks again.
