Whilst I agree with Jim (as nearly always, My Guru) & certainly not employing specialist personal attention. The product I mentioned is not a specialist product, (which is a similar fly spray & equal cost), but has a "long-reach" jet (which directly enters the nest) as opposed to a fine s...

...pray without being close proximate to the nest. rather than a cloud of wasps emerging slightly angry!

although for me, a wasp sting & applied vinegar to the skin does the job, for my partner, having alergical reaction requiring medico injections (antihistamine). She doesn´t look good like elephant.man! keep away & good luck.

I did search the forum and only found two topics about wasps, this one and one other. I don’t know where the nest is which is my problem. So far I have been recommended repellants; spray diesel, and fake wasp nests to deter them or sprays. Or to kill them with soapy water, but I would prefer to repel them. I just wandered if it’s normal in spain to have loads of wasps around your pool or is it just due to having a nest nearby.

Hi there,

I posted on this topic last week, since then my parents have arrived at the house and discovered the problem to be far worse than we thought. Between the people who tend our pool and garden and my parents using a highly effective wasp killer, they have managed to locate many nests and kill many wasps. However, the following day, my parents found even more nests tucked away in unlikely places..when your garden is a 2 acre plot, its not so much fun . They have spent most of their time indoors so far avoiding wasps and still my dad has been stung several times. I think if you cannot locate nests..and I was astounded at the places had built them..inside ornamental pits hanging on walls, gaps in dry stone walling  , underneath benches, I assumed they would be in plants or shrubs. then you need to keep some heavy duty spray at hand, if your home does not already have them, think about getting fitted insect screens to doors and windows, and keep antihistamine cream and medication in the house in case of a reaction to a sting. Our house is on the rd to Yecla out of Pinoso, wondering if you are a similar direction as it could be a localised problem? Hope you manage to sort something out. Jill
