Hi,

Can anyone tell me if we would be eligible for residency in Spain with only the state pension as income. I have read that you need an income of 800 euro's per person per month to meet these requirements.

Thanks,

John & Sarah

The requirements are here:

https://www.costablancaforum.com/area/almorad%C3%AD-spain-11/residency-in-almorad%C3%AD-padron-residencia-passport-advice-23/jims-guide-the-residency-certificate-43535/

The problem is in the way different police stations interpret the legislation. As well as pension income, they should also take into account ownership of a property, bank balance, and credit card limits. From what I've read in the way of input by other members, Orihuela and their offshoot office at Playa Flamenca are the most amenable.

As Jim says in his guide it varies on the office you go to!  If you are getting someone to get the residencia for you they will be able to advise on the requirements for the office or offices they use.

Thanks, it appears that it isn't exactly as 'black and white' as I expected it to be by the sounds of things.

Things rarely are black and white here in Spain, different regions interpret the Law in different ways.

The thing that would concern me with that is if they were to 'move the goalposts' so to speak at a later date in the future, could that be possible?
