Not according to a previous post. It was said the shutters were all down.

They are all closing, I believe, The one in Dona Pepa at the end of next month.

Hi, yes went by today and all closed up.  As is the one in Villamartin Plaza.  Such a shame as both were good little shops.

Yes saw it was open again.  Must have been just a few odd days that it was closed but it won't be long before it is sadly.

With the loss of Mercadona in Rojales, Johnsons in Quesada, now Jumerca/Gama closing and rumours about Dialprix at Marquesa, most of our favourite  stores that stock British products will be lost, is it because of Brexit.

I think it's more to do with the amount of stores opening in the area. Most supermarkets now sell British goods, much more than they used to do. Let alone Tesco and Iceland there is also Mas Y Mas, Consum, Carrefour etc that have a large range of British goods whereas we didn't have them before.

Oxo, Bisto. British bread, baked beans, Pukka pies an so on are now all available in many of these places.

When we first moved here, only Jumerca Gama and Johnson's did stuff like that. We only had a small Lidl and a Consum in our area apart from those. Now we have Tesco, Mas y Mas, 2 x Consums, a Mercadona, a large Lidl, an Aldi and all within walking distance. Add that to the 3 British butchers we have in the are with pies, pasties, black puddings, British (or Danish) bacon and so on and the range is now quite remarkable.

Plus every British type cereal etc. (at one time you could only get things like Weetabix and Shredded Wheat at those smaller stores, now everywhere has them.

I don't think the smaller places could compete anymore which is a shame as I particularly liked Jumerca Gama deli.

The one in Campoverde also closed, darn shame too.

perhaps if there had been more support / trade these closures wouldn’t have happened.

Thank you for the replies following the sad news of Mercadona closing in Rojales. Especially to Marcliff, you are always giving such good info. We now live at the end of the golf course so Mercadona and Dialprix have been our main shopping,  must now ensure that Dialprix will benefit from the loss of Mercadona. We have fond memories of Jumerca Gama at La Florida, as we lived just 200 metres away before moving to Rojales. We feel so sorry for the staff who will lose their jobs.
