If you're entitled to join the Spanish 'NHS' health system, after doing so just take your prescription along to your doctor and he'll give you a Spanish prescription for the same or equivalent medications.

Otherwise it's highly likely you'll be able to buy them without a prescription.

That's good. There are very few meds that aren't available in Spain, so hopefully you'll be OK. What I suggest you do is see if there are generic names for your meds, as these are usually cheaper - sometimes much cheaper - than brand names.

Hi, both myself and my husband have repeat prescriptions in the uk but have bought a house in Spain that we are hoping to move to in march. We went to our doctors surgery in the town with our passports and ehic card and were registered with the doctor, attended an appointment and given our prescriptions. I have to say the biggest shock was paying for them in the chemist. Mine was 25 cents and hubbys was 15!! So about 40p for two lots. Better than the £8+ we pay here.

Realy, cant believe how cheap that is.

Did you get a repeat prescription in spain or will you have to go back everytime you need more.
