Hi Eve,

When you say, "ireland", I assume you mean the Republic, rather than N.I.?

In the UK, people in receipt of an "exportable benefit" (such as Disability Living Allowance) are able to apply for an S1, which is the same form that allows UK State Pensioners to get free healthcare in Spain.  Unless there's a forum member from Ireland who can advise, I'd suggest getting in touch with your Government department that handles this (in the UK, it's the Department of Work and Pensions).

Kind regards,

Kim

While I am originally from Northern Ireland I can advise on the Republic. Before you leave Ireland, you should get Form S1 ( formerly E104 ) or Form U1 ( formerly E301 ) from the Department of Social Protection as these forms provide details of your Irish social insurance record.

Sorry not being more definite but I would recommend you get advise from the Department and not to rely on possible advice from people on the Forum which may be inaccurate.
