As you haven't yet had a reply... Over 60's can get a 'Tarjeta Dorada' for discounted rail travel from Renfe... up to 40% off normal fare. Cost is €6pa, and they can be purchased at manned ticket offices in stations or travel agents. All you need is your passport. Alsa buses also offer substantial discounts if you register online

Reading through all the posts on this subject, I can't relate to much of it, but it made me realize we have the same attitude about renters.
Don't hate me - but I never really thought about it before I read this.
Don't want to be lumped in with the Americans though !

Yes I thought the original post was really random for on here perhaps they should explain more with examples. I take people as I find them renters or not doesn't matter to me but I o dislike envy in people.

Hola how I agree Ok I own my house but Thatcher ruined the UK and her followers got the Brits out of the EU

On a personal note I envy you being a long term renter. We are trying to find somewhere from the end of May for a year at least but it's very difficult. I have to say that I find estate agents here are not helpful and I still cannot understand that they charge a month's fee to the person renting.
Hi do you have anything specific ? I can’t imagine why anyone would speak of a “renter” in general terms in a derogatory way. I have rented properties in the Uk for many years and whilst I have not always been lucky with tenants I do not think of them in a derogatory way. Without renters there would be very few people running a second home.
