Me too! No more house to look after.... I've had 4! Divorced twice. Like the feeling that I can change Spanish , or Portuguese or Eastern European home when I feel like it! Ditto having a car. Spanish pensioners travel discounts suit me fine!

Hello Mr Moulderhouse,

I would like to know more about those pensioner travel discount.

Could you please inform me?

Kind Regards,

Ronald

Ok, hands up - my name is Myra and I'm a renter. Have been for years. I've tried to give it up, I really I have. But the temptation of being able to move when I want and not having to worry about major repairs has me hooked. Not that I exercise this freedom, I've been in this same place for over 10 years, it suits me and it suits the owner.

Absolutely right but how do we get this through their thick snobbish heads.  I find the worst snobs are the ones who have achieved little or nothing themselves but contrive to look down on others.

With all due respect, I don't understand why you're worried about what ignorant people think  - or if they do think at all.

If you encounter ignorant people, it's usually fairly easy to move away from them and let them get on with it. Life's too short, don't waste time on them!

Has something happened to prompt your post? Have you had problems with your landlord?

On our community we have a mixture or renters and owners, I have never heard any comments that are derogatory to renters. If people respect the rules and are considerate to their neighbours it does not matter whether they rent or they own the property.

Rgds,

Aitch.

Not all people that wave the Union Jack or wanted to leave Europe are members of the National front. The majority of people voted this way because rightly or wrongly they wanted to be ruled from home instead of a bunch of people who are not  elected and who seem to only create chaos with every decision they make.

You could well be right, Thatcher really was responsible for a lot of what is wrong in Britain today and when I think about the nastier Brits with attitude over here they are largely from the generation who would have elected her.  What a legacy !.

Nothing to do with thatcher its all to do with modern generation that inherited money without having to work for it and a generation of brits that see no wrong in there kids ,you see a lot of them in spain BIG ,loud and drink all day.

Thatch and her policies had many unfortunate outcomes including huge unemployment, broken links in society, and wholesale destruction of industry that could have been viable with guidance and future investment. Her zeal in breaking trade unions and selling off social housing without putting in place viable alternatives has led the UK down the route towards poverty we witness today with the large disparity between haves and have nots leading to the disdain shown to renters.

Could it be a lot of renters especially in spain have abused the landlords in the past I know this as from past experience.

Its nothing to do with thatcher or her policy.
