Originals of green Residency certificates in Casa in San Miguel de Salinas! Need to get back and can only hope requirements change?

This post that was quoted has been deleted.

 Hello

Yes, it looks like the same topic from the same OP posted yesterday.  I have no firm knowledge of  whether a photo copy or photo would suffice for either boarding in UK or arrival in Spain but I would imagine not. Spain usually want to see original documents, I took my residencia with me during Brexit negotiations whenever I travelled ......just in case, Spanish adhering to rules can be unpredictable

Cheers

Authorities can check online your personal whereabots, but I agree that their reaction is unpredicatable.

I responded to the OP on the other thread with official information from both the UK Government, which she dismissed, and the British Embassy in Madrid, to save her an unnecessary phone call that she said she was going to make, but apparently my posts weren't helpful, so I won't be posting any further links.  The irony is that the answer to her question is on the Ryanair website.

Hi Kim,

I didn’t dismiss your information on the other thread, I don’t very often go onto the forum, it’s all quite new to me, thought it was yet another avenue, so sorry if I’ve upset you, I did find what you’d sent me very useful! Eventually I managed to have an on-line chat with Ryanair but they weren’t  able to say for certain if a copy of our green certificate of residence would be accepted and gave me the phone number for Stansted Airport, but once again got nowhere because they don’t have anything in their limited headers to deal with my specific problem plus there wasn’t anyone with a heartbeat I could speak with.  I clicked onto an online chat that I was sent via this forum, held I gather every Wednesday? but haven’t had time yet to watch it in full - but I will! I’ve signed up to be notified of the next live one.

Hello Cat Lady

it’s quite simple, book a flight and go. Produce your photograph of your residencia snd a Spanish written letter of explanation as to where and why you don’t have the original with you. In today’s world the Spanish representative should be able to check online that your photocopy is legal. If they turn you away , you have tried. Remember , fortune favours the brave.  Good luck.

Problem here in “just booking a flight and going” is that the likelihood is Cat Woman will be denied boarding and not allowed to fly if unable to produce original residency card

Hi

thank you Granny Rose for your comment.  If Ryanair’s chat line couldn’t answer me, saying she couldn’t find anything regarding their not having anything to the contrary regarding “not having the original” documentation then being brave might have to be the last resort.  If I get through passport control and luggage is in the hold, are Ryanair going to hold up the flight by having to unload everything until they find one lone piece of luggage? However, they could be heavily fined by letting me on the plane without the original document! We have with us a passport, Spanish driving licence, SIP card and utility bills and in this day and age it’s not logical when just about everything is online e.g. boarding pass for one! In all the years we’ve had the green Residency document we’ve never been asked for it  - until now! In December when we left to return to the UK it wasn’t a requirement!! Hindsight is a wonderful thing!!!

They WON'T put your luggage in the hold until they have checked you have qualifying documentation at the CheckIn Desk!

I think you're stuck for a little while longer until restrictions are eased.

Yes, you have a valid point!

Many thanks
