Hi all,

Not sure if I heard this right or not, but is it true that the electricity rates have been standardised since 1st June, regardless of who your supplier is?

I'm with Siesta Energy but have not had any notification of this?

Glad of any correct information.

Thanks

It has certainly come into operation. Like you I am unsure if it depends on your plan or supplier as I have received no information from Iberdrola. This graph was published in El Pais showing the timelines. Red being the highest times charged, yellow intermediate and green low. May be of use when we figure it out

I received an email re our meter would be getting recalibrated on June 17th. I just want to know does this mean the various tariffs we have all chosen (we are on Iberdrola night and day) ceases?. It did say to view my account after this date but just wondered if anyone knew now.

It seems to be a closely guarded secret. Ibrerdrola were canvassing everywhere you looked to sign people up to supposed economic tariffs. Would be good to know where we stand with these national rules now in force. Think I may try sticking to the off peak times as much as possible for a month and see what the bill comes in at.

Hello

I hadn't seen your little graph until yesterday, thanks for that, it's  very  useful.  That's exactly what I am doing now, I don't get an actual  bill  but just had an email with latest  amount to be debited so I will check for a month.

Cheers

Hi,

from your bill you can go into your account if you have registered or start by registering new with your details. It can be viewed in english, I don't normally bother when I get email invoices but I will after the 17th to get more information. I used to power the expensive machines(washer, dishwasher, cooking in advance our meals before lunchtime to just reheat later, but no way am I going to get up in the early hours to get everything done by 8am. Also the summertime needed advancing by 1hr so are these time constant all year round or changed by the summer/winter times? Our bills reduced by €5 approx month when we had the smart meter fitted but I can't say what saving we made by being on night and day tariff as we put it on that when we bought the house. We can't change the new tariffs but it will make more people aware of when best to use it.

Hi Pauline,

Coincidentally, I´ve just received an email from Iberdrola, regarding our Plan Noche, which says:

"Your contract is not affected by the new rates.  Although the new regulatory framework modifies electricity rates, with your personalized Iberdrola plan, schedule changes do not affect you.  With Iberdrola you can continue with your routine, because our plans are adapted to you."

Kind regards,

Kim

Hi Kim

Well that's weird isn't it? So not everyone is affected then if you have chosen a differrent tariff other than standard. Wonder what the new prices will be then and whether the new 3tier prices could be better if you can make the most of the low cost hours. Also maybe we won't get the low price weekend and holiday days either.

Why would they need to calibrate our meter if we keep on the same night plan. Mmm still need to investigate further methinks.

Hi Pauline,

I was surprised too, as I read somewhere yesterday - can´t remember whether it was on here or FB - of someone saying they´d visited an Iberdrola office and were told that their previously contracted plan would be affected.  I´m going to keep an eye on my bills to see whether the tariffs change from now to the June bill.

I have a feeling this subject will run for a while yet ;o)

Kind regards,

Kim
