Hi,

Yes that is an enclosed dig park and it is quite nice too.
If you search for “Parque canino” or “Parque de mascotas” in Google Maps you can find more parks along Costa Blanca.

Hi

Are there any safe enclosures in SP where I can let my dog off lead and run about, whilst In an enclosed safe environment?

My dog loves to run but is not to be trusted off lead on a beach or park.  She’s missing our large garden back home whilst we are staying in SP

I look after various dogs and can't trust them all off lead so I use a 30 foot lead.

It gives them plenty of space to run and get a ball and still get plenty of exercise, but safely.

Don't know if you've considered that?

I'm also a ground searcher for lost dogs and see so many posts of dogs with normally good recall, get spooked and often run off into danger so I understand why you wouldn't want to let yours off lead

Hi. Thanks. I have a greyhound and unfortunately she has pulled me off my feet at speed once before when on a long lead.  It’s in her nature to chase and when going at 40 mph - it’s a nasty injury when on the other end of her lead (broken ribs and nose 😱) so I can’t have a repeat of this. I’ve used run free parks back in UK and it allows her to run for 10 mins off lead which is ideal for her every few days in addition to her daily walks

I only have small dogs on a long lead so don't have that problem!

Hi, the only way to give your dog more freedom is to work on the recall. This would open up many new places for you to exercise your dog and let him run free. It will mean training and work, but it will also make the dog happy. A good trainer will be able to help you implement this. I have experience with hunting dogs, they too can be trained, but lack of training will only reduce the opportunities for you and  your dog! 20 minutes of training every day is enough but you have to invest it 🤷‍♀️

It's against the law in Spain for dogs to be off the lead outside the curtilage of the owner's property, unless in a designated area, such as a dog park.  It's a myth that Greyhounds need lots of exercise, so as CeeGee says, 10 minutes free running in a safe, enclosed space, in addition to normal walks, will be sufficient for a Greyhound.

Thanks for your comments but I can assure you I have tried this. I have a very happy rescue dog who is content with the daily  walks I give her and the occasional run in a safe environment. She has a strong prey drive so not to be trusted off lead - even with firm command. And as I’ve just found out from Kimmy, it’s against the law for offlead dogs in public places. I will use the enclosures suggested in other posts
