I agree.....the bill's are a lot more expensive than in the UK and like other members on here it is important to pick the right tarif. It's just a different system than in the UK where you have to pick the supply you want taking into account the appliances you use and at what time of the day you ...

...use them.

I have the night tarif with iberdrola rated at 5.75 KW as that suits me. Dishwashers, washing machine all used on the night when possible but not  necessary due to the size of my supply.

I suspect that the majority of your bill is made up of standing charges.

I will look at another supplier when I'm a resident to save any potential hiccups that could happen.

Yes if I was their permanently I would probably think of changing tariff  my bills are not that high I can live with that it’s the amount we pay when we are not their bugs me.we never asked for a smart meter so why should I pay for it and if they are not paying someone to read the meter they are gaining both ways same argument with the U.K. really.sorry to go on worked in the industry 43yrs 20 Nationalised 23private take it from me better run when country run it. Take care.

Have you any idea what a smart meter costs? The minimal amount paid in meter rental will never enable Iberdrola etc to recoup the capital cost of installing them.

No idea Jim And Frankley don’t give a Dam they are making enough money as are the U.K. Companies No meter reader no vehicle to bring Meter reader So no maintenance fuel or vehicle purchase Or servicing far less administration costs to produce invoice no postage costs less staff  they wouldn’t provide Smart meters if no financial gain .one thing I can say in favour of U.K. companies they are more professional in getting your supply back on when thier is an outage have had a lot more power cuts in Spain than U.K.

You can bet that if there were a service with which you did only pay for what you used the price per kWh would be that high that you'd not save a thing.

I totally agree with your comments about the smart meter cost and the instant savings and all the future savings by installing them. RIP off merchants.

Hi Cheryl

Thanks for letting me know about the time switches. We only use our apartment about12 weeks a year so I reduced our potencia a 3 years ago to 3.5KW I think it’s tripped twice no problem though.i just thought the costs were a lot when were not thier, saying that we have not been out since ...

...January we turn the Electric off when we come home but my bills are still approx €20 a month which I still think is a lot compared to our U.K. bills.take care.

We've just had bill for 34 days , we have not been there and it is 17€. We think that's very reasonable

We are not in Spain at the moment but our June bill was €35.80 with Iberdrola, and our electricity is turned off. Think I will need to visit their office when I am over next time. Where is the nearest office to Quesada and do they speak English. Thanks folks.
