Your NIE number isn’t on your passport. It’s a letter, 7 numbers and another letter - A1234567B.

I also use my passport number to get onto internet banking as I opened the account before I had my NIE. I assume that’s the case with you.

You should have a document with your NIE on it, try your electricity bill.

Good luck with sorting it.

Hi Martin,

The member who Elinspain helped before gave us feedback after she'd called Customer Services and successfully paid her bill.  I can't find that thread at the moment, but I remember her saying that SUMA emailed her a copy of her bill so that she could pay it online at www.suma.es (from the blue banner, select the drop-down menu "Taxpayers", then under Frequent Procedures, select "Pay Online").

Good luck!

Kind regards,

Kim
