Is it just me, or perhaps the Victor Meldrew setting in!

There seems to be many balding types, again Victor comes to mind, with loud motor bikes.

I am not, by any means, a biker. I once had a Honda 70 if I recall… But it never stalled and I never found the need to rev it, when coming to a stand/still or parking up outside a bar for instance.

I asked a chap the other day, after noticing his Harley Davdison sounded considerably more quiet and sweet than usual, if he’d had his exhaust fixed.

He informed me that he’d put the original back on, in order to get through the Spanish MOT i.e. ITV… and then replaced it with the noisy one.

As we spoke, a Harley Davidson rode past, burbling sweetly. Heads turned in admiration.

My companion donned his crash helmet, started his machine and after revving it for three or four minutes rode off to annoy some others.

Is it just me?

Villas.

Hi Villas,

It's not just you. I don't like noisy motorbikes either, especially two strokes.

My nom de plume gives a clue to my interest, classic cars.

I have had and rebuilt dozens over the years and none have made a lot of noise.

The one slight exception I made was for a Daimler SP250 (akaDart) whose magnificent V8 was like music.

THERE IS NO SUBSTITUTE FOR LITRES.

I’ve been a Biker all my life and I have a home in Sax ( currently used as a holiday home) I can’t wait to get one of my bikes over there, or buy one. And join those noisy buggers.

Paul.

This made me laugh Villas, very good. Just like to say, the bike l mostly use here is 40 years old ,and quiet, l was just saying that I don’t mind noisy bikes. Over in Sax I hear more noise from dogs and cockrells than bikes. ( l hope l didn’t offend anyone with my last post ? ).               Pau

Hi Trac.....Not at all. I hope most of my posts (tongue-in-cheek) sometimes raise a smile. Right off out, to strangle next door´s cockerel!

We’re over again at the end of April,   Maybe see you for a pint and a chat? We use the Vic, but mostly the Bistro.
