Golf Society

Hi John,

I am not aware of a society based specifically in Sax, however I am sure there are many within the area. A quick search will give you results of many local groups, some playing various course, weekly, monthly, and some just playing a home course. Your first choice will either be join a few societies and play various courses or find a local course, join and mix in with members already playing there.

Membership of clubs in Spain is similar to the UK, with 5 day, full, off peak, restricted months, all available, some courses offer reduced rates for membership and then you pay typically 3 or 5 euros each time you play. If a buggy is required some also offer a 12 month buggy prices. 

The membership charges are typically higher than the UK, some courses have the same owners which allows you to play other local courses at reduced rates. 

The alternative is to join a few societies then you can play days and courses to suit you and basically pay and play,  societies charge around 40-60 euros a round. 

Your location at Sax is quite a distance from the more populated areas with many courses, predominantly situated around Torrevieja, and most societies play these courses.  

Your local courses are probably, Alenda, Font del llop and Villena, Alenda and Font del llop both have active membership with society groups meeting on various days, very welcoming and a trip to view will give you all the information you need. From memory I think Font Del Llop is about 1000 euro's a year for 5 day membership with no extra charges, and Alenda is about 800 for full membership however you pay 5 euro's each time you play at Alenda. Both courses are lovely and have active groups playing regular games.

Further to the good information posted by 'the Ashes' ....

There are 3/4 golfers based in Sax who play at some of the mentioned golf courses. 

Dont know if you do Facebook ..but if so, perhaps post your message in one of the forums there ...

There are a few forums starting with the word Sax, ie the buying and selling help and advice type forums, so typing in Sax in the search box should throw a few up. Someone will probably respond from there.

Hi, try Orba Warblers Golf Society. They play a different course in Costa Blanca North each week. Just pay green fee when you play. Normally fee is cheaper than for just single player or 4 ball going direct.
