Sorry Villa's, don't wish to participate in this thread anymore. It just makes me angry that someone should think that too much fuss has been made over the pandemic, having lost 2 dear friends myself. That's my last word on subject.

Pauline

Thanks. (any input is good)

Yes, huge difference between compulsory mask wearing countries and countries with no mask requirements. Or maybe not.

Your quite right, I went out last weekend no mask wearing, Monday I felt rough, Tuesday I tested positive for covid symptoms man flu, temperature, shaking, cough, soar throat, blocked nose, headache lack of appetite and aching all over in bed for 3 days, wife in separate room but she tested positiv...

...e on Thursday her symptoms very similar but not as bad, (but us men normally get things worse lol.)

Today Sunday still blocked nose and coughing but otherwise ok, my wife the same blocked nose and cough..

Both of us had all the jabs booster included and I had the flu jab also. So it’s still about, I’m glad we had the vaccinations. Keep safe.

Unfortunately, the jabs cumulatively reduces immunity, an EU study showed. They were worried immunodeficiency would be the result. Also, unfortunately, the anti-Covid effect of the jab only lasts for about 10 weeks. The vast majority of people with Covid (ONS) in the UK are not triple jabbed.

Funny enough Boca Grande I don't know what any pre existing health issues have to do with catching covid but I don't have any maybe do a bit of research, but you are my no 1 hero for being so flippant about the pandemic well done.

By the way I'm feeling very well now.

A bit surprised by you not being aware of this. The majority (80%?) were obese/overweight, were on blood pressure medication or had blood sugar problems. Many were on deficient diets and  did not do any exercise.

I think you,re wrong stating overwhelming majority had pre-existing conditions, maybe true to say majority were elderly with lower immune systems but many healthy younger and children were affected too. As to avoiding large social gatherings, it only takes 1 person with no symptoms to pass it on....

... I also don't think keeping a healthy lifestyle has anything to do with it, your lifestyle can't guarantee your immunity. As you have never had any vaccinations, you could still be a carrier.

Pauline

Where did you find the research that vaccinated people are not carriers?

New to me.

I do not doubt your answer, do you have a link, but wether you have underlying health problems or you are the perfect athlete you can still catch covid and that’s my point any one can catch it. unfortunately the difference is those that aren’t healthy and do catch it have less resistance and have died from it, but the selfish attitudes are really unhelpful.

He didn’t say that he made a statement that unvaccinated people can still be carriers which is a fact, as is vaccinated people can still be carriers, if you want to make this into a debate on the rights and wrongs of the vaccination etc, I suggest you open a new thread.

I am sure you know that the overwhelming majority of them had either pre-existing conditions or came in touch with one who had.

If you lead a healthy lifestyle and avoid large gatherings, then you have no worries.

So by your assessment you have to come into contact with someone who has covid and pre existing health problems to catch covid, what if they are super fit and healthy like yourself and you pass covid onto them does this mean they won’t get it or won’t be badly affected by it because you are super fit and healthy and your genes have lowered the strength.

By the same token you can still catch it by mingling amongst a small amount of people as in large crowds, unless you live in a monastery or similar.
