The gassings were happening many years ago,but not heard of them happening now?
We have never regretted moving here for any reason.
Thanks Robbie. The decision is made. We will be buying in Torrevieja x

Thank you so much. We are so looking forward to getting our apartment in Torrevieja. This comment has helped greatly in us making our final decision. Xx
De nada. I have no doubt, you will be happy here.
Spanish folk have been lovely, and helpful, and friendly.
Health service was excellent before Covid, not too good now,but I’m sure it will get back to how it used to be?
You won’t believe the cost of living here, rip off Britain comes to mind.
A good idea, which we did,is to rent somewhere for 3 months,to approach estate agents, and get feedback from ex pats.
One thing we learned to our cost, never pay a deposit to an estate agent, but to your lawyer, who will pass it in.
We paid 3000€ to an agent, had a change of heart only a few hours later, and he refused to hand it back.
After a fight we got half back.
If we ever move again we will use an agent who appears on the tv yearly,so darent do any dodgy dealing?
It is a family run agency, the wife is from Liverpool, and the husband is Spanish, their daughters are agents too.
Not sure if I’m allowed to name them on here?
Personally,I’d say go for it. You only live once.

I’m really glad you have decided to buy in Torre, we love it here and have always been welcomed by the locals where we live.

Good that you have been reassured enough to consider a purchase in Torrevieja but I would strongly advise against placing a deposit on any property that you haven't physically seen, or have you ?

Renting for 3 months before purchasing isn't really practical now that we're non-EU citizens.
You'd then have to go back to the UK for the next 90 days under the Schengen Rules.
Not sure if 90 days is sufficient to conduct the entire Residencia process from scratch but happy to be corrected.

Hi Sam
I'm reading information about Costa Calida. Just wondering if there's any particular parts thats not too quiet with nice bars, restaurants and shops? We don't want too quiet and isolated. TIA
We lived in Los Alcázares for a few years, not over commercialised , quieter in winter but not dead, worth a look .

I agree with Martin. I also rent a very nice 3 bedroom apartment in Benidorm at €500 per month plus electricity with no other bills whatsoever. It's on the outskirts of the main town and 8 minutes walk to the beach.
It would be well worth renting for a full year in your chosen area of Torrevieja.

How is that possible under the Schengen 90 day rule for 3rd country nationals?

My post was a suggestion to the OP for after they have gained residency which has to be applied for whilst they are still in the UK.
