Hi Sam

I'm reading information about Costa Calida. Just wondering if there's any particular parts thats not too quiet with nice bars, restaurants and shops? We don't want too quiet and isolated. TIA

Have a look at Torre de la Horadada. It’s lov

Hi.

We have lived in Torrevieja for over 6 years now,and not experienced any crime.

Our many free newspapers obviously report crimes, but nothing out of the ordinary, that you wouldn't find anywhere else?

We lived in Manchester....enough said!

I'd go out at night without my husband.

Both of us have always felt safer here than the uk.

If we go into Town at night,we feel perfectly safe.

I wouldn't say the crime rate is high here at all.

Squatters are rearing their ugly heads, but if you report they have broken in,in the first 24 hours of them moving in,you have a good chance of getting them out.

I wouldn't hesitate to move here, cost of living us amazing too.

Good luck, whatever you choose to do.

Squatters can be removed from private properties even if they have children with the recent changes in the law. They now look for what appear to be abandoned properties or at bank repossessions offered for sale which can be found on the web. These are a whole different ball game for these people and present few problems and may include quite high grade properties. Wintertime is easy for them and a bank repo in the middle of a row of unoccupied houses couldn't be better.. We have been here 3 years and last year an unoccupied/abandoned house nearby was being looked at by some known Dodgy geezers so my neighbour tells me after watching them on his outdoor webcam.

Next day he got a couple of mates to quickly give it a lick of paint and repair a window and they weren't seen again. He reckons they use places like this one for pushing etc until they get too well known and look for a new gaff.

We have been told by our urb administrator who is a lawyer also, that while Covid is here,no one, even squatters can be evicted.

Torrevieja is our adopted City

We bought our house 15 years ago, and have absolutely no regrets.

Obviously prudence and proper care is suggested, but I have no problem whatsoever in promoting Torrevieja.

Our only problem now is that we are unable to come to our house due to Covid-19.

But God is good, and Torrevieja is a truly lovely place. Good luck😷☘🇮🇪🇪🇸

That may be right, in Italy there is a similar load of crap at the moment!

Lefties reign here and there!

He also said, the house owner has to pay by law all the utility bills for the property, even if it has squatters in.

Preposterous, but you will be taken to court if you refuse to pay?
