Hi there

Well i am in the process of selling my house with an agreed sale now on the table. I am thinking of going to Spain and by listening to a lot of reports on Torrevieja it sound like the place to be, although i have never been!

I would appreciate any recommendations that can be given, such as what my first steps should be etc. Obviously as soon as restrictions are lifted i will fly over to have a recky!

Thanks

Jonathan

Hi Jonathan

For 6 months I did a lot of research on Torrevieja and surrounding areas. I left the UK on 13th December after selling my house. I drove down with my son and dog, the car full to bursting. I am currently staying in a friends holiday home in Quesada, which is lovely but to far out for me. My son is due to fly back to the UK in a few weeks. I am 52, on my own and decided I wanted a new life in the sun. I have bought a house in La Florida which is due to complete on or before 23/2. If you want to keep in touch pm me and I can give you all information on my experiences so far.

Regards

Michelle

Oh yes , the remainers are still active and not died yet of old age or covid ,

I would give buying in spain a miss for a bit, 2 years , but still holiday there , I don't like torrevieja,  to spanish ,lol.

Go down to la zenia or villamartin,  it's a lot nicer area , great bars restaurants and beaches,  but higher prices to buy.

Villa martin not a look in on Torrivieja, bugger all to do.

Hi

Michelle

Thanks for your info. I must admit that I have not done a great deal of research on Torrevieja but just heard lots of rumours, generally good ones. Plus I have never been there!!! As soon as restrictions are lifted I can fly out, so yes it would be nice to know you and get what advice you can pass on, I seem to be in similar circumstances to you!

Hi Jonathan

I’ve never been here before I came. Just watched loads of you tube videos, A Place in the Sun and Sun, Sea selling houses. Obviously it has been a little different for me as I came before the deadline and my lawyers were on top of everything before 31/12.

if you private message me I’ll send you my email address so you have it for any questions you may have.

Regards

Michelle

Thanks for the warning Seanie, you take care yourself. We are in strict isolation until we are vaccinated... hopefully by the end of the month. They have set up 3 huge venues in our town so clearly they plan to work like mad.  You are so right, wintertime is the time that these viruses love so we daren’t let our guard down.
