I did a transfer last week but rate is good today at 1.165 with "Wise", suggest wait till Thursday pm cos that's best time for weeks rate unless you think it might even go higher.
Regards

If anyone could predict currency fluctuations with any degree of certainty they would be extremely wealthy :-)

We are finding everytime we transfer money into our Spanish account we are changed 15% for putting it in. Its disgusting.

Use another account to pay it in or dump the spanish account if you are non-resident

You must be transferring from your UK bank which now not in EU will cause the charge, but if you open a Wise account(transferwise) you will get a better rate than you would get from any UK bank and no Spanish bank charges. You can decide to transfer when rate is at its best, then you transfer money to Wise, then they send on to Spanish account for a very small transfer fee. Have done so for over 10yrs.

You do from either England account or any other. It is not the English side changes it is the Spanish bank change. They just say your out of the EU now so you have to pay.

It is likely a problem brought on by Brexit and the use of GB IBAN's. It is not true to say it is the same with any other account. Try transferring from an EU IBAN such as a Wise account

Use a transfer company such as Wise or Moneycorp and you shouldn't have to pay the transfer fee. You will likely get a better exchange rate than your bank gives you too.

I,ve used Wise over 10yrs to send to my Spanish account and always have a small delivery fee to pay. Usually £3.95/1000 so how are you saying there's no fee, am I doing wrong?
